Michael Collins

mcollins_97@yahoo.com

Details:
I have a bad trader to add to your list. His name is Michael Collins. He contacted me through Beckett about trading for my 1997 Bowman's Best Mirror Image Refractor of Greg Maddux. He offered me two 1996-97 Topps Finest RC's of Antoine Walker and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. We made a deal. I sent his card on 12/9/1997 and he said that he would send on the same day. He e-mailed me approximately one week later saying that he had received the card I sent. I never received my cards and he has so far refused to answer my 5 e-mails.

He had a page in Beckett under user ID, mcollins97 which has been erased as of today. His e-mail address is mcollins_97@yahoo.com and his home address is 4212 W. Cactus #1110-42, Phoenix, AZ 85029.

My name is Leslie J. Cash and my address is 10606, Hwy One South Hill, VA 23970 and my e-mail address is bobalou@msinets.com

I do alot of selling and trading on the internet and everyone who deals with me knows that I am honest and fair. But I do not appreciate losers who steal and cheat. It's not so much the money but the principle of the matter. Even if this card were only worth $1, I would pursue the matter because Michael Collins needs to account for his actions. - Leslie Cash

Brad Bruigom/Christian Koch

fishman4@ix.netcom.com

Details:
Christian Koch is a person not to deal with. I am only out $10 for the return check charge for a $60 check he sent me back in January. It was the usual story of not covering the check in time. He then asked me to redeposit the check, which I told him to send me a money order and I would return his bounced check. He then told me someone had died in his family (may have happened). Then he told me that the money order got returned to him (for whatever reason, I still don't know). After repeated warnings, I finally blasted him on the net. I got an e-mail from him stating that I wasn't a very nice person and I should have been more sympathetic with him, and the story goes on and on. For a while I thought I might have been too harsh on the guy until I saw another posting, listing Mr. Koch as a guy not to deal with. Sure enough, I had confirmation that this guy is no good." -Paul Patterson

Terry Delius

Details:
Recently I sent this guy [Terry] a $275 money order for a pre-buy of SPX boxes. Then when I call him [after I never received the boxes] to see what happened, he says it will be $20 more. We already had made the deal and the money was sent to him, however he refused to return it. I have made many posts, kindly asking him to return my money, but he refused to.

Rebuttal:
"Do not send any more threats to my home or you [Kwong] will be in same boat as your friend...I repeat do not send any more threats to my home, you [Kwong] are breaking federal law. This nut has cussed and called me and ... had a third party who has tried to help, who I sold 4 boxes of spx. There is no helping this child. If I put any libel on you (Kwong) better have some proof." -Terry Delius

Re-rebuttal:

"As you can see [from Terry's rebuttal], he is an absolute idiot. He is going to pay one way or another... " -William Chu

"I still have the e-mail Terry gave me. What you've read above was edited VERY heavily for spelling, grammar, and clarity. Feel free to contact me for it and I will show you the unedited version. BTW your "rebuttal" REALLY helps your case, Mr. Delius.]

Joseph Dio

TXRM65B@prodigy.com

Details:
"A while back I made a deal with Joseph in which I would give him a Bryan Berard Refractor for a 2nd year Messier Card. I sent out the card which he received, but never received mine. When I contacted him about it, his reply was simply 'I sent it, its not my problem.' So when I finally threatened to put a 'beware of...' posting he told me that he had already made a deal with someone else for the Messier, but he would send back my Berard refractor which he never did. I do have all the messages in which he says that he made a deal for the Messier with someone else, all but admitting he tried to screw me, which he did. I e-mailed Prodigy but they were all but useless." -Kent Sorochuk

Rebuttal:
"I told [Kent] I don't have the Berard Refractor, but because of his intent to destroy my name I sent him, the Messier and a Bobby Orr All-Star Card." -Joseph Dio

Update:
"While I do consider him to be one of the worst offenders here, he finally (after a year) made good. However, as he told me, it was not because of the fact that he felt any moral obligation, or that it was because I kept emailing him. He said that he felt perfectly fine ripping me off. It was because I emailed and involved his father that he finally sent the card. He's still on my bad trader list, and if anyone ever asks I will tell them not to deal with him... " -Kent Sorochuk

"I agreed online with Mark to purchase some baseball sets (two Ultra [series] 1, and three Collector's Choice [series] 1)... The deal was that I would send payment and he would send the cards when he received it. I sent out the payment, and never received cards. After several E-mails to him with no response I posted a note online on AOL and the internet newsgroup. Several other people responded to me that they too had been ripped off." -Robert Menard

"I ordered two cards from Mark in about a [one] week [period] and sent two [separate] checks [in the mail], for $8 and $12, but have not received the cards. He has not responded to my [five repeated] e-mails... I figure if he ripped one person off [already] ... I probably was ripped off [too]... I can believe one [check] getting lost in the mail, but not both." -David Morikawa

"This guy has ripped me off for the tiny sum of $1.00; I stopped by his condominium in Garland, Texas, several months ago (was up in Dallas anyway) but no one was home. There was recent mail in the mailbox though; I left a very short, terse note... It's not the dollar, it's the principle of the matter." -Thomas White "I sent Mark two checks last January [for his cards which I never received]. After about a month I sent him some e-mail (to 'ExTechCards'), which he never read. He later cancelled that screen name. I have since sent a couple of snail-mail letters, but they have been ignored also. I sent a note to Lazinski@aol.com, since his name was Mark Lesczynski as well, but he claimed I had the wrong person and said he did not care that he was listed in bad-trader posts." -Greg Rozier

On three separate occasions after I emailed him, he has emailed me saying that the 'card was sent out, sorry for the delay.' "I had a deal with him to trade $130 worth of my Alex Rodriguez SP RCs and Klesko Inserts for his mint condition Leaf Frank Thomas RC. This was a $130 to $85 trade in his favor. We agreed to the trade on July 4 [1996] and both exchanged addresses so we could send the cards out right away. As soon as we agreed to the trade, he stopped answering his e-mail messages... [and later] he dropped his e-mail account. I gave him three weeks to get his cards to me before I decided to post [him as a bad trader]... He also had the nerve to argue with me over more Alex Rodriguez RCs. He was using the Beckett which listed them at $8 while I was using the most current one that had it at $18." -Thad Nakajima

"On June 25th [1996,] we agreed over E-mail to trade my 1995 Coll. Choice Silver Sig. Greer for her 1994 Coll. Choice Crash The Game Ramirez. I mailed out the Greer card the following day, and E-mailed her to let her know it was on its way and to give her my address. On July 8th I E-mailed her again because I had not received the Ramirez. She confirmed that the Greer had arrived, and stated that she had been on vacation and would send the Ramirez the next day. On July 17th I E-mailed her yet again, and she stated that she actually did not mail the card until July 11th. She stated that if the card had not arrived by Monday the 22nd that she would return the Greer. The card did not arrive, and I E-mailed her on Tuesday asking her to return the Greer. I have yet to receive a response." -Joshua Rosenberg

"Our deal was for a 1994 UDCC 5th prize winners card for $1.00. About two months later, I had received nothing. Coincidentally, the [latest] Beckett [magazine] had just come out, listing the value of the set attached to the winner's card at $10. My money was returned, with a one line explanation of 'Sorry, ran out.' Likely story. My guess is that they backed out when they saw the value (of which I too was unaware at the time of purchase. I just wanted the Alomar in the set). Emails for a further explanation went unanswered." -Derek Tam

Rebuttal:
E-mails to both accounts went unanswered.

Update:
"Last week I received the Greer card I originally sent to Dana, postmarked August 3rd, and then a day later $2 cash that Dana's father, Bruce Lundy, had agreed to send me to compensate me for my time, card, and postage (which I returned). Since Dana had told me that she returned the Greer card a couple of weeks before, she clearly lied, and I would advise others against dealing with her." -Joshua Rosenberg on 08/12/96

Details:
"We made a deal to trade about $150 worth of stuff. He told me that he had sent the stuff out. I immediately sent my stuff out. A week later when I didn't receive anything he said that he couldn't find any boxes to put the cards in. I was surprised since he had already said he sent them out! He put me off for a week or two. Then he said that he was mad that he didn't get any Andruw Jones cards out of the 95 Bowman packs that he received and ... that the packs weren't in a sealed box (even though I told him twice before the trade that I was trading packs not factory sealed boxes since I didn't have any factory sealed boxes left). I told him to send the cards back if he wasn't satisfied. He said that he would still go through with his part of the deal and that the cards would go out the next week. They didn't, and he said they must have been lost in the mail to which I responded that he was responsible for them if they were... He finally sent about half of what was owed to me. I asked where the rest were and he said that he 'forgot' to send them. He then sent some of them, but still neglected to send half of a Series 1 TSC set (about $40 in cards). After months of emails, he finally said that he would send the rest if I wouldn't send messages [on the internet] about how he ripped me off... I said fine, but he still hasn't sent them even though it is almost an entire year after the original deal... " -Al Case

Rebuttal:
"Al Case actually ripped me off. He never said anything about the boxes being opened. All he said was he purchased the boxes from a customer and they were his last ones. On his sheet it said FACTORY SEALED BOXES. When I got them I noticed the boxes had no seals on them and he had crammed some of the other packs I had traded from him in there. I figured he had opened the boxes to put the packs in. Boy was I wrong! Not a single Bowman Gold. Your supposed to get eight Gold in two boxes [according to the odds]... How he searched the packs I don't know but scum like him can find a way... Al just complained to my netmaster so I wouldn't be able to write to his and get him kicked off. He has got me kicked off two networks and is trying for the third." -Benjamin/Campbell Rush

Re-rebuttal:
"This [rebuttal Rush has stated] is an absolute lie. I [already] told him I was sending packs and not a factory sealed box. Based on the fact that he hasn't sent anything back and he hasn't completed his part of the deal shows what kind of character this guy is. He probably got a fair distribution of Gold Cards and is just saying that to rationalize the fact that he never sent his part of the deal. How can I search packs that are sealed anyway? As far as I know, the Golds aren't any thicker than the regular cards. He can write to my netmaster all he wants to. I've talked with several others who have been ripped off by this guy. All I'm asking for is for him to send his part of the deal or return the cards I sent to him! Nothing more!" -Al Case on 8/27/96

"He was preselling UD SPx Basketball boxes for $105 each sometime before June 22nd [1996]... I replied to his post asking if he had any left. He replied saying he had three left and would save me one. So I sent him a check for $105 on June 24 to Canada. When I began to see posts of [him selling] SPx all over [again], I wrote to him asking if he sent the box yet, but he never responded. Then I saw posts of him over the newsgroup saying they were ripped by him so I attempted to cancel the check, but he had already cashed it. I threatened I would post what he did, but he didn't care since he's donea stunt like this before. The last time he talked to me was when I asked when the box would arrive. I have given up trying to contact him since he obviously won't answer any of my mail. I suspect he will lay low before attempting another scam. I have proof that he's also swindled people by claiming to presell boxes of Topps Finest as well. After being ripped off by him and knowing other people who was tricked as well I strongly recommend not dealing with him, otherwise you'll lose your hard earned money." -Tom Huey
